The GIAHS “Ayu of the Nagara River System” Promotion Association has decided to adopt a logo in order to promote the system to the public both through using it in publication materials including brochures and websites as well as through attaching it to the related services such as local products of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, traditional crafts, and the like.

Gifu Prefecture with its bountiful nature is expressed in the logo.
Clear blue water streams from green mountains and eventually reaches the estuary. The energetic ayu of the Nagara River can only live in clear waters. These individual soft arc shapes are put together symbolically. The whole logo also represents the “g” of Gifu. We hope that the globally important agricultural heritage system will be loved by everyone and this wonderful environment will continue.
