Gifu Prefecture, GIAHS “Ayu of the Nagara River System” Promotion Association

The Association was established to encourage the promotion of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, the inheritance of traditional fishing methods and culture, community-wide conservation of the river and environment, and the attraction of tourists by preserving and passing on the "Nagara River System," symbolized by the "Ayu of the Nagara River system," which is recognized as a “Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems” site.
